Its referred to by the native Maori as the land of the long white cloud, but don't let that fool you, New Zealand is an incredibly beautiful country simply bursting at the seams with fascinating culture, providing great fuel for adventure, within truly captivating landscapes.
Mark, one of our Tour Directors, is just about to set off with his group of lovely travellers on our Highlights of New Zealand, North & South Journey. Kicking off in Auckland and finishing in Christchurch, over the next 11 days the group will visit some of the most iconic areas of New Zealand, immerse themselves in the infectious culture and taste some of its world-famous wine along the way.
One of our favourite spots in New Zealand is Queenstown. It is home to wonderful, welcoming people who thrive off of the landscape around them & the huge potential for adventure that it provides. We have spent lots of time here in years gone by, so while our guests are here we have scheduled a couple of days at leisure, where they can dive in to all this wonderful town has to offer. Top of our list is a ride up the gondola to enjoy unprecedented views over Lake Wakatipu towards the aptly named mountain range, The Remarkables. We can't recommend Erik's Fish & Chips enough, his deep-fried Kiwi is something not to be missed! For those who want to take things at a slower pace a wander through Queenstown Gardens is a great way to appreciate the unique surroundings.
Perhaps two of the most iconic locations visited on this journey are Milford Sound & the Franz Josef Glacier. Both are worthy of being on the front of a postcard to send home.
There really is something special about New Zealand, and we know that this journey will only encourage our fellow travellers to visit again & again… we wish we were there!
